On 18th September 2020 Friday night 9.15pm, a raging and rapidly-spreading fire broke out at the temple.
As plumes of smoke and red flames flared on, residents from the nearby welfare home were evacuated in time. We are grateful that SCDF deployed 62 firefighters, 7 water jets and 11 emergency vehicles for this fire-fighting mission that totalled more than 3 hours to complete.
Despite the roaring flames from the terrifying fire that had damaged and engulfed almost the first floor and the main office on the second floor of the temple, all the statues of deities on the first floor God of Wealth Hall and the Goddess of Mercy Hall were miraculously intact and unscathed.
It has been a tough and challenging times for the temple. Donations were struggled to raise for the temple restorations during the pandemic.
Through this unfortunate event, we witnessed and experienced the most amazing thing.
Love and support in the form of assistance and donations from our devout devotees from all over Singapore poured in and tided us through. Eventually, we could restore and rebuild this sacred temple because of these blessings.
A Significant Event to Remember
